Two entities govern University Place: The Homeowners’ Association (HOA) and a Community Development District (CDD). The five HOA Board members are residents who are elected annually and oversee the day-to-day running of University Place, with the help of our HOA professional management company, Sunstate Association Management Group.

The CDD is an independent special purpose unit of local government established pursuant to and governed by Chapter 190, Florida Statutes. The five members of its Board are all University Place residents. Among other things, the CDD is responsible for the basic infrastructure of University Place, including the roads, irrigation system, and the security gates on Cooper Creek Boulevard and Honore Avenue.
